New Notices

This next Soup Saturday ON Saturday 11th March will be the
last one of the season that will aim to raise money for St George’s (never fear- soups are on in April but the proceeds will be going to Christian Aid).
We are making this last fundraiser a FROM ME TO YOU BRING AND BUY.
The idea is to bring along something that you would ideally give as a gift to someone – maybe it’s actually a gift someone has recently bought you without knowing you already had one!- and then you buy a gift that maybe someone else has brought in.
As we are hoping for things that are in a new condition, it does mean that this isn’t one of those opportunities to clear out the loft but more, if you have something in your home that
you would love for someone else to appreciate and enjoy, then bring it in
to give.
It would be wonderful if as many of you could come along and support
this. Our Hall could really help with the Church income if we can make sure its a place where people would like to hire with great facilities and nice surroundings so do have a look and see if there is a gift you can passon as well as enjoy a delicious soup!

It is that time of the year when we start thinking ahead to
Easter. At St George’s we like to have is our spectacular display of Easter Lilies. There should be a list for you to sign in the porch if you would like to contribute an
Easter Lily to be displayed in memory of someone special for a small donation of £3.00. This is a wonderful way to remember those who are no longer with us, with their name
beautifully inscribed at the front of the display.
The cut off date isWednesday 5th April in order to get the buds in bloom. Payments for the lilies can either be made to them or in the Church Office.

This year the churchyard gardening sessions will
take place on the 3RD Saturday Morning of Each Month, March – October.
If you’d like to help, we meet in the churchyard (unless it’s pouring with rain!) between 9.30am – 12.30pm on these days. The main tasks are weeding, removing brambles from &
trimming hedges, edging, sweeping &raking. We have a few churchyard tools, but many helpers like to bring and use their own. It‘s also very helpful if you can bring a few garden sacks or are able to take a carload to the tip. Don’t forget your gloves – there are lots of brambles! Come for part of or all of the session. Please bring your own drinks – snacks will be provided!
FIRST SESSION: SATURDAY 18th March 9.30 – 12.30pm

Showing at a Church near you…ST GEORGE’S!!
Tuesday 28th March
Time to be confirmed
Follows the epic Biblical story of the Resurrection, as told through the eyes of a non-believer. Clavius, a powerful Roman Military Tribune, and his aide Lucius, are tasked with
solving the mystery of what happened to Yahshua in the weeks
following the crucifixion, in order to disprove the rumors of a risen Messiah and prevent an uprising in Jerusalem
.As part of our season of lent and our preparation for Easter Sunday, we thought we would have a showing of this film. Bring a cushion, bring your snacks and watch this film
Do let the Church Office know if you would like to come!

Dear Lord
We lift up our dear friends who have left us here on this
earth Lord but are now resting in your loving arms.
We particularly remember Peter Reeves (late husband of
Barbara), Russell Petty and Jean Underwood
(late wife of Brian). Lord, you are the Father of compassion and
the Source of every comfort, asking You to touch them with
Your unfailing love and kindness.
Be their God who comforts them as they remember their loved
ones, today and always.
