Bishop John Pritchard’s Visit

We have been asked by many of you who were either there and were inspired, or were unable to be at the service on Sunday 28th February 2016 to be able to listen to Bishop John Pritchard’s sermon.

We were delighted that he was able to visit us once more and he has very kindly granted us  permission to have his sermon available here for us all to listen to. Thank you to Matthew and Laurie for making this digitally possible too!

Joe Homan Charity

St George’s Church has been supporting the Joe Homan Charity in Southern India since the 1960’s.  It runs Boys’ and Girls Homes and Children’s Villages, originally for orphan boys whom Joe found scraping a living at railway stations.

The photographs are of Tindlepatti Children’s Village.

Wilton Cottage which our church paid for, is half a double dwelling that is home to eight small boys, who keep their possessions and sleeping mats on the shelves at the end of their simple room. The boys go to local schools.

These days the charity still supports young people in a variety of ways, many of whom go on to higher education.
